Harnessing the Power of Google Forms: Be a Connected Google Classroom Go-Getter |
Following on from Harnessing the Power Of Google Docs workshop, this workshop will show teachers how to create their own interactive task-based checklists using Google forms. These checklists can be adapted to any classroom project and enable students to earn badges as they progress through the checklist tasks. Within the workshop, participants will work through the workshop checklist while creating their own learning task checklists using a Google form template. Participants will choose from 135 ready-made badges to tailor their checklists to their own students and subjects. Badges are a great way to motivate learners (Abramovich, Schunn, & Higashi, 2013; Hakulinen, Auvinen, & Korhonen, 2013), especially through a multi-step project or assignment. The presenter will also share additional Google form templates so participants can continue to create new checklists & badges after the workshop. By the end of the workshop, participants will have earned their Connected Google Classroom Go-Getter badge. It is strongly recommended participants already have a Google+ account. Alternatively, participants may come 15 minutes early to the workshop to set one up. The presenter will be on hand before the workshop to assist participants in setting up Google+ accounts. This workshop is guaranteed to fill up fast; reserve your place now. Claire Knowles is an online Spanish instructor & online course developer for Regent’s Online Campus Collaborative (ROCC).
